Whats the difference between Duplication and Replication? Many customers use the term duplication and replication
interchangeably however there is a big difference between duplication and replication. Duplication
is the process of making copies of CD/DVD from recordable media. The duplication process consists of a CD/DVD master and blank CD’s and CD Duplication
drives commonly called “burners” DVD/CD Duplication utilizes blank CD’s/DVD’s that have a recording layer that consists of a dye. On the other hand CD Replication process consists of a CD/DVD Master and creating awhat is called a glass master which in turn stampers are made from. The
CD/DVD Replication
process results in a stamped disc which is the standard in any retail ready professional software or music product. CD/DVD Duplication
is normally used when a customer is requesting quantities under 1000 duplicated/replicated per duplication/replication run.
